Northwest Surfing
Northwest Surf is here to provide you with surfing resources and information specific to the cold water of the pacific northwest. The main purpose of our site is to provide local surfers the basic tools for forecasting, discuss and promote events, and showcase local photography and videos. Our site is still a work in progress and we're looking for anyone that would like to help out by providing photos, content, or anything else that might help get us off the ground. Volunteers that would like to report the surf for Oregon, Washington, or Vancouver Island are more than welcome to get in touch with us. Please contact us at here if you would like to help.

Summer Surfing Update: Washington
I apologize to everyone for not being able to put more effort into the site at the moment, but I'm currently living in Cooper Landing, AK. It's been hard to get on the computer and work on the site. Right now I have several different priorities that are keeping me from working on NorthwestSurf.com. First off, the site is still on a server in Tucson, AZ. I wasn't able to get it set up in Seattle during my 5 day stay down there, and I'm now having a friend set it up. Second, I'm living in Alaska and I just want to be outside as much as possible. Third, I'm moving to Japan in a month and a half (September 4th). So, now that you're all up to date, please check back soon because I haven't forgot about this site.
Surfing Vancouver Island
March 21, 2007

Surfing in vancouver island is a great trip for Washington and Oregon surfers. It's a beautiful island and the surfign there is exceptional to great in the winter and mellow but warmer in the summer months. Unfortunately, with the falling dollar and high gas prices, it's a lot more expensive to take a trip up to Tofino than it used to be just a few years ago. That doesn't mean a trip to the island is can't be affordable as long as it's planned well. I recommend bringing gloves and booties even in the summer because it only takes a few days of nothern winds to bring down the water temp into the 40's.
Surfing Tools
March 21, 2007
We do have a surfing tools page for everyone to use. Unfortunately, it's not a comprehensive list of all the tools you'll need to get an accurate surf forcast. We are working on getting some updates made to the page and we would really appreciate some suggestions for tools. Thanks!
Oregon Surfing:
Oregon has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Northwest and has consistently good swell for most of year. A lot of spots can get crowded in the summer, but the vibe is generally pretty low-key. Bring a 5 mil, a smile, and hope for the best.
